Absolutely Amazing

Our family was traveling cross country and stumbled upon Lamar CO, which in itself is a pretty small town. We were attracted to the Cow Palace Inn by it’s great lighting. (It was dark) The parking lot was well lit and quite large.

The lobby was a throwback the the old west which was very classy and well thought out. I loved that the theme was throughout the common areas. We were all starving and couldn’t wait to eat. We were seated in the restaurant and waited on quickly. We LOVED the salsa!! (I know my salsa and this is homemade) I thought they would ask us to please stop asking for more, but the salsa is bottomless for sure. We all ordered something different on the menu and it was all cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious!!

After our meal we were ready to call it a night and I could not believe that they offered Posturepedic beds! What?? At a hotel? We have one at home and are pretty accustomed to sore backs after sleeping in hotels (Even when they claim to have nice beds) but not at the Palace, we slept like babies and woke up without back pain. If you have one of your own, you know what it’s like to be spoiled while sleeping, there is nothing like it. Thank you Cow Palace for the great night’s sleep. 🙂

Last but certainly not least, when we were leaving we had the great pleasure of meeting the owners of the hotel, Doug and Lee, they personally thanked us for staying and asked us if there was anything else they could do for us to make our stay any better. We said no and thanked them again. Doug asked if we had tried the ice cream parlor and we said that we had not. He showed us where it was and we all enjoyed the BEST ice cream we have ever had! Would I return to the Cow Palace? 100%, no question!!

Thank You Cow Palace!!

Very Nice

We have stayed here on and off over the years. We had stopped because it was not being taken care of yet still pricey.

I read about the redo. So we booked a room. It’s nice. The mattress is a newer very comfortable pillow top. There is a 40″ flat screen. Unfortunately it does not have HD channels. There was new bathroom shower insert and toilet. The down side was the very old and worn out carpet from the eighties. It was clean.

The pool area looked good as well as the physical appearance of the exterior. Lots of work there. So if you like it in the day it’s ready again.

The Cow Palace Is Back

The glory years of this property are back. Clean as can be and very nicely remodeled, with a very nice pool and hot tub and a restaurant that is as good as any in the area. The rooms were clean with new mattresses and furnishings. The owner, Doug Thrall and his crew should be proud of how they have turned this property around back to its glory days of the 70’s and 80’s.

Nice Place

This is a great place to stay. The courtyard gives it a uniqueness that very few hotels have. Beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast is from a menu and cooked to order. We stay here occasionally and everytime we do, it gets better. Looking forward to the next time we are through Lamar, co.

Great place

We have written reviews before about the Cow Palace. We stayed in this place when the previous owner had let it go to shambles. But since the new owner, this place just keeps getting better and better. The difference from about 6 – 7 years ago till now is remarkable. My family and I stay here about every 6 months or so and we are so happy to stay here. The hotel just keeps getting better. The kids get excited to see what has changed from our previous visit. It is a fun place. The staff is very friendly. The free breakfast is actually cooked to order from a breakfast menu that you pick the items. Wonderful pancakes, bacon, hash browns, oatmeal, etc… all of it is good. The owner actually cares what kind of experience you have. We will return.

Nice Stay At The Cow Palace

Great name for a place in Lamar, Colorado. The beds were really nice, and so were the rooms. Big TV, and kind of unique inner part of the hotel with the pool and huge area it was in. Has a lounge, and restaurant too. Would recommend.

Great Stay

My family and I stayed at the cow palace and had a good experience. With young kids the heated pool was a big plus! Having a restaurant on site made it convenient. The service at the front desk was helpful. We will definitely stay again when passing through Lamar.

Great Experience

I grew up in Southeastern Colorado and my parents still live there. Recently my Mom celebrated her 90th Birthday and I made sure my family and all of my grow children and spouses we able to be there. Because of the number of us, I booked us all into The Cow Palace Inn in Lamar, Colorado. It was a great experience in small town USA from the time we checked in to the time we checked out three days later. The front office staff was very courteous and accomodating and we were set up with three adjoining rooms. They were all clean, spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast was a real country breakfast not just a muffin and coffee. The wait staff was very professional and service was excellent. If you are looking for a beer at the end of the day try the “Man Beer” in the lounge and you will not be dissapointed. My five year old grandson loved the indoor pool. So if you are passing through Southeastern Colorado and want a great place to stay with friendly people and atmosphere The Cow Palace Inn is a great choice.

Undergoing A Slow But Steady Renaissance

Did not stay there, but we did have two meals and a familiar gathering place – the Courtyard – for our 50 year (class of 64) reunion……..The assistance given us by the new owner showed us he really wanted our business – and hopes to earn yours. The Food far exceed my expectations – and The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve had in years ! Everything tasted so good – And the service was very good and quite friendly…… and – the breakfast bonus – at the end of the buffet line – the best green chili I have had in 25 years – at least – If you’re planning an event – give them a shot at your event!
